Freedom Imani

International recording artist Freedom Imani, a singer, songwriter, model, vocal coach, and musician started his journey in singing at the age of 7. Early in his career, he released his first gospel single "I'm Still Here" after winning a Heaven 600 gospel radio competition. Freedom was originally born in Baltimore, Maryland and was only 12 years old at the time.

Later, he released his second Gospel single "Overcomer" in 2010. Which was produced by Grammy award winner JOSH LAY. In 2014 Freedom Imani song “So In Love” featured on Eric Seats Project Sidiooo Album with The 2 x Grammy Multi-Award Winning Producer/Musician Eric Seats.

Soon after, in 2014 Freedom became the lead singer of The Legendary band “Pockets”, who recorded three albums under the production guidance of Earth Wind and Fire’s Verdine White and Robert Wright. Freedom was blessed to tour and record some of their greatest hit songs!!! “Come Go with Me”released back in (1977) and “”Pasado”” (1978)

In 2014 Freedom’s band Pockets released their US UK single entitled “Sing A Message” This song became an anthem and was featured on The Luxury Soul 2017 UK Album!! Having this platform allowed him to become stronger within his life and artistry. Freedom released his live and unplugged jazz single entitled “Breeve Live” in 2017 then in 2019 recorded “It Feels Good” with producer/composer Stuart Hart and Sonic Culture Studios for the new Google Duo commercial.

“It Feels Good” undoubtedly became Stuart Hart’s new single featuring Freedom Imani on Apple Music, Google duo commercial, Nickelodeon, The loud House and Super Bowl halftime commercials etc., Freedom gives all credit to God for the opportunities!!

With the same company producer, later Freedom recorded “Don’t Ever Let Me Go” and “Dance Floor” which was featured on Season 1 of B.E.T.’s “AMERICAN SOUL”. “Dance Floor” Became one of the hottest songs of the project! His second song “Don’t Ever Let Me Go” Featured on the 10th episode of American Soul!

 Also In 2019, he joined forces with the original lead singer of Pockets, Larry Jacobs, and Pockets then went on their first music tour in London with the band “Breakwater”. The UK loved Freedom Imani, and shortly after that tour his gift allowed him to depart from the group in 2018 to continue on his solo career.

On July 2nd Freedom took DC by storm. Headlining Live At The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage for The Relax/Relate/Release Dc 2021 Exchange which was created by the Ceative Nomads. It was a moment he will never forget!! On September 10th Freedom hit the stage live pay tribute, to our beacon of Hope! Ms. Harriet Tubman. The Fourth Annual Day of Resilience is a very special and significant highlight – the dedication of the Beacon of Hope, an inspiring, 13-foot bronze sculpture honoring Harriet Tubman in conjunction with the bicentennial of her birth. All in Dorchester County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore – where Harriet Tubman was born 200  years ago. Freedom Imani alongside Emmy and Academy Award winning sculptor Wesley Woffor and family descendants. It was a blessed day!!

This years has open a lot of doors for FREEDOM to step in to his being. Coming very soon is the release of his first Live and unplugged EP entitled “You Don’t Own My Life” LIVE at the RVA Boombox in RICHMOND, VIRGINIA!! This project was recorded and produced by Artist,Singer,Songwriter. Quinton Jones. This song and his project he considers to be the anthems of healing. Stay tuned Freedom Imani 2025!!
